Bowers & Wilkins has released the Pi8 McLaren Edition, a new version of its Pi8 wireless earbuds, to mark the tenth anniversary of its partnership with McLaren Automotive. The earbuds are now available for purchase in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region through the Bowers & Wilkins website, priced at £449 / €499.

The Pi8 McLaren Edition features design elements inspired by McLaren, including Papaya Orange and Galvanic Grey color accents. The product was developed in collaboration with McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team. It builds on the technical features of the original Pi8 earbuds, which have received multiple industry awards.

The Pi8 earbuds are known for delivering high-resolution audio performance, and the McLaren Edition maintains these specifications. Features include Wireless Audio Retransmission, enhanced connectivity, and a focus on comfort and fit. Materials used are described as premium, and the design is aligned with McLaren’s visual identity.

Bowers & Wilkins and McLaren Automotive began their partnership in 2015. The collaboration has included work on audio systems for McLaren’s supercars, including the McLaren GT and the recently announced McLaren W1. Bowers & Wilkins engineers worked alongside McLaren Automotive teams to integrate audio systems into McLaren vehicles, including advanced technologies developed at the company’s Southwater research facility. These include speaker technologies such as the Continuum Cone, also used in Bowers & Wilkins’ 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers.
In 2023, the partnership expanded to include Bowers & Wilkins as the official audio partner for both McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
