Ford Motor Company has introduced the Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a vehicle designed to honor 60 years of Mustang heritage and American innovation. The announcement commemorates milestones such as Mustang’s first race win at the 1964 Tour de France and its achievement as the first car from an American automaker to lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes.

The Mustang GTD Spirit of America features a distinctive Performance White body with twin Race Red and Lightning Blue racing stripes, a tribute to the original Mustang tribar logo from 1964. The design also draws inspiration from the racing overalls worn by Craig Breedlove during his record-breaking land speed achievements in the 1960s.

The vehicle incorporates exposed carbon fiber elements for improved aerodynamics, including a front splitter, rear diffuser, and spoiler. The spoiler features Race Red end plates and a “MUSTANG” wordmark on the underside. Standard features include Race Red brake calipers, a choice of mirror caps in Race Red or exposed carbon fiber, and a package-specific leather-trimmed interior with Dinamica inserts and Victory Blue contrast stitching.

Ford positions the Mustang GTD as the most powerful Mustang ever produced, delivering 815 horsepower, 664 pound-feet of torque, and a top speed of 202 miles per hour. The Mustang GTD Spirit of America package highlights its performance with the inclusion of the Mustang GTD Performance Package.

The Mustang GTD Spirit of America reflects a legacy of American ingenuity and is described by Ford representatives as embodying the daring and perseverance that have characterized the Mustang brand since its inception.
