Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has completed the manufacture of its 1,000th aircraft wing at its production facility in Savannah, Georgia. The company began producing wings at this location in 2012. The milestone wing set will be installed on a Gulfstream G600 aircraft.
The Savannah facility is responsible for manufacturing all wings used on Gulfstream’s current fleet, including the G800, G700, G650ER, G600, G500, and G400 models. Gulfstream leadership attributes the milestone to its internal manufacturing processes and workforce capabilities.
The company has implemented design and production approaches that build on those used for the G650 aircraft. These include manufacturing and design similarities across aircraft models and the development of dedicated facilities. In 2022, Gulfstream announced plans to expand its wing production site and increase output for the G600, G500, and G400 programs. These moves were positioned as responses to increased customer demand.
