Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that its Gulfstream G700 aircraft has surpassed 65 city-pair speed records. Among the most recent of these flights, the G700 flew from Savannah, Georgia to Honolulu, Hawaii using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel. The trip covered 4,090 nautical miles (7,574 kilometers) in 8 hours and 52 minutes, maintaining an average speed of Mach 0.90. Another notable record included a flight from Los Angeles, California to Sydney, Australia. That journey spanned 6,507 nautical miles (12,051 kilometers) and took 14 hours and 26 minutes.
The new speed records are pending verification by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale based in Switzerland.
According to Gulfstream, the G700 offers a large cabin with several features, including a cabin altitude lower than other aircraft in its category, fresh air circulation, and 20 panoramic windows. The aircraft can operate at a maximum speed of Mach 0.935 and is capable of flying up to 7,750 nautical miles (14,353 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nautical miles (12,316 kilometers) at Mach 0.90.
